June 6 – 16, Rijeka

This extraordinary annual international sailing event aims to promote sailing and the Kvarner region as a popular nautical destination. Fiumanka has incorporated various sports and entertainment programs along with sailing, making it a recognized sports and tourist event. In addition to the traditional cruiser regatta, an important part of Fiumanka is the media regatta co-organized by Croatian Radiotelevision.

Mini Farmers’ Market

June 11 – September 14, Vrsar

The market of Istrian agricultural products is every Tuesday on the Riva and every Saturday in the old town center of Vrsar on Degrassi Square.

June 21 – 22, Korčula

Korčula invites all beer lovers on June 21st in Korčula center.

Fisherman Festivals

June 21 – September 20, Vrsar

The favorite town promenade, ’’ Riva’’, displays a brand new look once a month since May and becomes a host to the most visited fiesta honoring fishermen and their catches. During the fishermen’s festivals, enjoy seafood from the Adriatic Sea, learn fishing tips from the locals, and sing with a glass of Istrian Malvazija.

June 23 – 27, Zrće Beach, Island of Pag

June 24 – 26, Island of Youth, Lake Jarun, Zagreb

Croatian “Coachella” open-air event gathers some of the most famous names of modern music, which is why it has been listed among the audience’s favorite festivals year after year.

Casanova Tour

June 25 – September 17, Vrsar

This interactive tour is inspired by Giacomo Casanova, the world’s most famous seducer, and his visits to Vrsar. The tour starts on the waterfront and follows the viewpoints in the town’s historic core, offering an unforgettable journey through the love story of Casanova. The tour finishes in Casanova’s Refuge, where he stayed when on his first visit to Vrsar in 1743.

Velvet Festival

June 26 – 30, Punat, Island of Krk

This year, Velvet is welcoming over 50 artists from 16 countries across 4 stages accompanied by boat parties, a strong chef lineup, and a karaoke booth to sing some of your best hits.

June 27 – 29, Opatija

This retro festival brings together both young and old, pin-up models, dancers, jugglers, street musicians, makeup artists, and hair stylists, and presents vintage cars and motorcycles. It is a musical time machine sending you into the crazy beats and retro styles of the 20th century.

Half New Year Celebration Carnival

June 30 – July 1, Korčula

Half New Year Celebration Carnival is a traditional fun event that attracts guests who are having fun until the early morning hours on the streets of Korčula. 

JULY 2023

Battle at Marina

July 4, Marina

The event takes place in an authentic historical setting where the real event occurred at the end of June in the medieval settlement of Marina. This battle is of great historical importance and is specific in that brave women played the main role.

Korčula Island Wine Festival

July 5 – August 3, Korčula, Smokvica, Blato

During July and August, the Town of Korčula and the places of Čara, Smokvica, and Blato will host wine evenings. The events gather the island winemakers, presenting the wines produced on the island.

75th Dubrovnik Summer Festival

10 July to 25 August, Dubrovnik Old Town

Dubrovnik Summer Festival has been held since 1950 and is the largest and most representative cultural manifestation, not only in Dubrovnik but in all of Croatia.

July 12 – 14, Split

Ultra Europe, the biggest Ultra event after the festival in Miami, has been named the best festival in the world for three years running, and will take place for its 10th anniversary in Split!

Forestland is a music festival that brings together over 60 DJs and artists, rappers and singers, food trucks, a zip line, two stages, a camping ground nearby, and thousands of visitors showing what the summer’s really about – friends, music, and fun!

Dance and Non-Verbal Theatre Festival

July 19 – 21, Svetvinčenat

The Dance and Non-Verbal Theatre Festival is a renowned cultural event that brings together dance enthusiasts. Organized since 2000, the festival showcases a diverse international program featuring contemporary dance, physical theater, circus performances, street art, and educational workshops.

Spartan Race

July 20 – 21, Sveta Nedelja

Participants can challenge themselves in Sprint, Super, Beast, and Night Sprint races, or take on the weekend Trifecta pass. This year’s event also features Croatia’s first National Obstacle Course Racing Championship. Additionally, Hvar will host the Spartan Race World Championship, attracting competitors from nearly 40 countries, and promoting Croatia as a prime destination for extreme sports.

July 25 – 27, Šibenik

Martinska Punk meets Kanal Fest 2024 and returns to Šibenik with fierce punk and guitar sounds featuring bands like Peter and the Test Tube Babies, Hookline, Obscene Revenge, Wasserdicht, and more.

Delmates vs Romans Match

July 28, Sinj

Inspired by the tombstone of Gaius Laberius, freelance artist Dean Poljak created a replica and devised a game to promote the theory of football’s origins in the area. The match is a comic theatrical performance with ancient-inspired rules, featuring Emperor Diocletian, Empress Prisca, and their advisers. Bandsmen, a referee, and ten players per team, representing the Delmates and Romans, are dressed in authentic costumes.

Sinjska Alka

August 2 – 4, Sinj

The Sinjska Alka is an ancient knightly tournament in horseback riding. While riding on horses in full gallop, alkars are trying to hit the steel alka ring that is hanging from a rope across the racecourse with a spear. Sinjska Alka has been inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible World Heritage as the only game of its kind.

Fishermen’s Day

August 2 – 4, Baška

The first competition in the pulling of fishing nets since 1910 combines music, many educational and entertainment activities for all generations, and fills the town with great mood and a special fishermen’s spirit.

August 10, Metković-Opuzen-Ploče

The Lađa Boat Marathon has become an important event that attracts attention beyond the borders of Croatia, representing a combination of tradition, sport, and tourism.

Žrnovo is known for Žrnovski makaruni, a local homemade pasta. The dish is prepared using traditional recipes and the culinary festival is known as Makarunada.

Dimensions Festival

August 29 – September 2, Tisno

Dimensions Festival is the perfect place to enjoy music programs with a few hundred performers on several beach chill-out stages and at numerous boat parties.

Cheese festival

September 21 – 22, Svetvinčenat

The cheese festival gathers the best cheese makers from all over Croatia to display their products. On the square, while tasting top-quality cheese, visitors can view old Istrian crafts and buy local souvenirs as part of the Istrian fair.

Dinaric Rally

September 8 – 14, Knin

Covering over 1500 kilometers with 5 extremely challenging stages and more than 1200 special stages, the best rally riders in the world will push the limits of their abilities and the endurance of their brutal Rally vehicles. Dinaric Rally 2024 is the final of 3 races in the open Rally Raid Championship of Croatia.
